November Member Profile: Mike Mulraney, Duffy & Shanley

Mike Mulraney is an account executive at Duffy & Shanley, a public relations firm based out of Providence, Rhode Island with an Albany office here at Bull Moose Club. Mike’s career in PR began after graduating from The University of Scranton in 2012 and working as a press secretary in the New York State Assembly.

Now, in his position at Duffy & Shanley, he’s using his past experiences to take on this exciting new challenge of expanding the firm’s presence here in the Capital Region and throughout the state. Mike describes Duffy & Shanley as a “a mid-sized firm that’s not afraid to get its hands dirty and deliver for clients.”

The firm has worked on projects across industries –from wind farms and backpack manufacturers to fast food chains like Dunkin’ Donuts. He recalled a particularly cool moment for the company when the firm helped an elementary school in South Carolina get on the radar of U.S. President Barack Obama.

“We can do it all,” he says.

Mike’s professional motto is inspired from a quote his father would tell him growing up — “A smart person knows a little bit about everything.”

This quote served Mike not only in Jeopardy and crossword puzzles, but also motivated him to seek out a liberal arts college. The skillset he developed through this advice and his higher education experience has helped get him to where he is in his career today.

Before joining Duffy and Shanley, Mike also worked as a freelance social media consultant and hosted a podcast called, “DoubleTap,” which focused on new developments and best practices in social media. The dedication he puts into his career is a testament to show how much he enjoys the type of work he does.

Mike likes working out of Bull Moose Club because it provides a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere every day.

“Having the opportunity to come here is something I genuinely look forward to,” he said.

Mike is a valued member here at the Bull Moose Club so make sure you say hello the next time you see him!
